The Ren and Stimpy Show: Veediots! is a video game based on the Ren & Stimpy cartoon series on Nickelodeon. It was released by THQ for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy in 1993. There is no central story line to the game; all four levels are separate stories based on episodes of the TV series.

Gameplay

The Ren & Stimpy Show: Veediots! is a comedic action game in which the player alternatively controls the titular characters Ren and Stimpy. The game is composed of four stages that are based on episodes from the television series and range from a standard living room to a bizarre giant mouth. Objects can be grabbed and thrown as a form of self-defense, and power-ups can be used to augment Ren or Stimpy's offensive or defensive attributes; for example, Ren can consume chunks of cheese to make his breath lethal to enemy characters. The player is given a limited time to complete each stage.[1]

The Ren & Stimpy Show: Veediots! received middling reviews from critics. Nintendo Power commended the SNES version's faithfulness to the television series in its visuals, items, music and voice clips that recreate the cartoon's "nutty slapstick", though noted the game's "repetitive" stages and "fairly standard" gameplay.[1] The same publication commented that the Game Boy version had good graphics, but poor controls and challenge.[4] Electronic Gaming Monthly praised the graphics, voice clips and concept of basing each level on an episode of the series, but stated that the controls "could be improved greatly".[2]
