Kandiid is a social marketplace app for iOS and Android where users can promote, buy, and sell created content.[1] Kandiid's value proposition addresses a generation of creators that seeks an opportunity to express themselves, while having the choice to monetize their content. In an uprising pay per view market; mobility, content freedom, and creation tools offer an alternative to the social space.

Kandiid competes with other marketplace apps like Kofi, Patreon, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

History

Founder Antoine McLaughlin conceptualized Kandiid in 2018 as a social networking marketplace in which creatives could monetize their artwork. When the initial Kandiid prototype materialized, co-founders Michael Jackson and Justin Bethel joined as active board members and investors.[2] In 2019 Air Force veteran Leighton Lawrence joined the executive board, thus incorporating Kandiid in April of 2020. Kandiid is on both the Google Play and iOS. Since the initial release to the public in October 2021, the total number of unique downloads has reached 25,000 in the first 90 days of launch. Kandiid is a social platform that transforms everyday users into creators by providing resources and accessibility.

Kandiid operates in a “Judgement Free Zone”, which means comments are disabled to encourage expression. Kandiid also does not shadowban or restrict creativity from users. Users can monetize from digital art as well as linking crypto & NFT products. Users can create a profile, post digital art, access a value, and publish their art.[3] Kandiid doesn't call user’s followers or fans, instead the platform is based on connections.

Hip-hop artist Soulja Boy was the first celebrity to join Kandiid as an equity holder in October 2021.[4] In October 2021, Soulja Boy announced Kandiid nationally on the syndicated radio show - The Breakfast Club. Key influencers in entertainment; D Teck, Karine “Sho-time” Thornton, Keith “Youngin George II, DjeFeezy, Frederick Wingate aka “The Kandiid Guy”, and nft influencer Stackpack, joined Kandiid as both advisors and infrastructure heads.[5] In addition, the executive team consists of recording industry executives Benny Pough of Dverse Media Group and Lewis Tucker, formerly of Uptown Records and Bad Boy Records. NFL players Terrence Fede & Kyle Phillips joined Kandiid as investors and influencers for the Kandiid app.[6]

On April 4, 2022, Founder Antoine Mclaughlin announced the addition of “Kandiid Konversations”, a podcast to support the Kandiid app as a live tutorial for users.  Each episode will feature special guests to offer historical context of the Kandiid app features, updates, and obstacles users find challenging.
