Six West (Ireland), formerly incorporated as "Elite Aero Ireland Ltd" is an aviation company, specializing in providing global flight operation services to the aircraft leasing industry.[3] Six West conducts daily flight operations around the world for airlines, aircraft leasing organisations, banks, high net worth individuals. Six West is based in Dublin, Ireland, and is an approved Article 134 OTARS operator.[2] The company operates in more than 70 countries and has offices outside of Dublin in Cork, Hong Kong, Malta and the Cayman Islands [1][4][5]

Overview

Elite Aero Ireland Limited, trading as Six West was founded on 16th March 2017. According to the Six West's founders, Jason Williamson and Robert Scarborough, "an identified requirement to provide customized flight operations services to aircraft lessors led them to creating the company". Six West’s Dublin headquarters became the Head Office of the company’s operations, however, expansion into Asia in January 2018 provided the opportunity to play a new role in addressing the growing shortage of experienced contract pilots for private aviation in the region.[1][6][7]

History

  • March 2017: Six West incorporates formally in Ireland.
  • August 2017: Six West commences flight operations.
  • September 2017: Six West appoints IBA.iq to provide fleet data intelligence to support the growth of Six West’s services to the leasing industry.[8]
  • September 2017: Six West partners with London based Flightworx Aviation in an agreement that sees Flightworx providing specialist operations support to Six West’s services to the global aircraft leasing industry. [9]
  • November 2017: Six West receives Bermuda (OTARs) Civil Aviation Authority Flight Operations Approval, allowing Six West to operate aircraft for the leasing industry worldwide on Bermuda Registered aircraft. This milestone establishes Six West as only one of several operators to hold the approval
  • November 2018: Six West identifies a strategic commercial opportunity in the space and begins growing the concept
  • August 2019. Following the renovation of its website, the company also expanded its services portfolio.[10][11]
  • September 2019: Six West expands its operational headquarters in Dublin.[12][13]
  • September 2019: Six West partners with Knighthood Capital Partners

Subsidiaries

In January, 2018, Six West (Hong Kong) Limited was incorporated in Hong Kong. Six West (Hong Kong) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Six West (Ireland) and was created to further the expansion of private jet crewing services in the region. The Asian subsidiary allowed a separation of business activities from the growing Aircraft Leasing Industry operations in Ireland. Trans Global Airlines (TGA), is incorporated in the Cayman Islands as a subsidiary to Six West in February 2019. Trans Global Airlines was created to provide the aircraft leasing industry with access to a broader range of flight operations solutions to enable them to deploy their assets into new territories previously unreachable via the industry's 83bis arrangements. Six West Malta is incorporated in Malta, July 2019 to ensure the leasing industry can access a European Air Operators Certificate to build on the Trans Global Airlines service offering

Six West's business model provides a wide range of services and a proven model of airworthiness, which includes easier interaction between aircraft lessors and aircraft lessees. The company also developed and maintains a comprehensive pilot database which allows them to provide pilots to owners and operators of aircraft around the world for short or long term crewing. Six West partners with Leon Software and IBA.iq for provision of flight ops management support and fleet data intelligence.[15][16]
