The company was founded[2] in 2006 by Sanjay Tandon, former Microsoft Program Manager for Active Directory Security. The company is headquartered in Newport Beach, California and led by its founder.

Its distinguished Advisory Board[3] amongst others includes Karen Worstell, former Microsoft Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). It also operates the largest professional group of Active Directory Security professionals in the world, over four thousand professionals from across the world.

The company published The Paramount Brief,[4] an executive summary, declassified[5] in 2016, that describes a serious cyber security risk that potentially impacts the foundational cyber security of 85% of organizations worldwide. [5]
