Nestoridae, consisting of kea and kākā, is a family of parrots from New Zealand and Norfolk Island, Australia . They are in the superfamily Strigopoidea, which also includes the living kākāpō (Strigops habroptilus) and the fossil species Heracles inexpectatus.
