Lichtwardtia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.[2] In a phylogenetic analysis of the subfamily Dolichopodinae by Scott E. Brooks in 2005, Lichtwardtia is considered to be a synonym of Dolichopus,[3] but other authors retain it as a valid genus.[4] Before this, it was considered a possible subgenus of Pterostylus by Oleg Negrobov (1979).

It is known from the Afrotropical, Oriental and Australasian realms.[5]
