Martin Woodall is an American entrepreneur, executive, advisor, and board member.[1][2] He co-founded MicroSolutions alongside Mark Cuban. Several years later Cuban, Todd Wagner and Woodall founded Broadcast.com which initiated Internet radio.[1][2][3]

In 1999, he founded The Woodall Foundation to support medically challenged children.[4][5][6]

Early life and education

Martin Woodall received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with honors in 1974 and received his master's degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University (WVU) in 1976.[7][2][8]

Career

At Texas Instruments from 1977 to 1982, Woodall started as a software engineer, contributed to early applications of a new microprocessor chip.[9][10][11]

In 1982, Woodall founded Hytec Data Systems, a company providing accounting software for businesses using multi-terminal microcomputers.

In 1983, Woodall co-founded MicroSolutions Inc. alongside Mark Cuban.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]

In 1990, CompuServe acquired the company, which had developed into a notable PC network integrator and software reseller in the United States with $25 million in annual sales.[9][11][14][15][21][20] Subsequently, Mark Cuban and Woodall lead Radical Computing, a venture capital firm specializing in high-tech companies.[9][17]

In 1995, Woodall co-founded Broadcast.com with Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban.[12] The company went public in 1998 and was later acquired by Yahoo! in 1999 for five billion dollars.[9][10][11][15][14][22]

In 1999, Martin Woodall served as the technology member on the board of directors for the American Airlines Center and held the position of Chief Operating Officer and Vice President at the Mark Cuban Companies from 1999 to 2017.[1][2][8]

In 2007, Martin Woodall, Mark Cuban, and Robert Hart co-founded MLWAir, an air charter jet company with an all-first-class setup.[7][23] Initially operating a Boeing 757 for the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, they later added a Boeing 767-200 for global operations.[7][9][10][23] Under Woodall's leadership, the company revenues of approximately $100 million.[24][25][26][27]

In 2014, Woodall founded DroneData, a company specializing in hosting dedicated physical GPU-accelerated servers for optimizing drone analytic execution times and facilitating AI and Deep Learning processes.[1][7][2][28][29][10]

In 2018, Woodall became the seed investor for GhostRobotics, a Philadelphia-based company specializing in military approved legged robots.[1] He also supported a collaborative project at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) involving DroneData, AstroRobotics and FAU's Machine Perception and Cognitive Robotics laboratory, leading to the development of Astro, a four-legged robot dog for university research.[28][30][29][31][32][33]

In 2019, Woodall founded AstroRobotics, an authorized reseller of GhostRobotics, specializing in legged robots for inspection and surveillance.[1][7][2][8][31] The GhostRobotics Vision series is known for its efficiency in navigating unstructured terrain.[28][30][32]
