Abishur Prakash (born September 21, 1991) is a Canadian businessman, author,[1] and geopolitical expert. He is the chief executive officer and founder of The Geopolitical Business, an advisory firm based in Toronto, Canada.[2] Prior to this, he worked as a futurist at Center for Innovating the Future, a foresight agency.[3][4]

Early life and education

Prakash was born in New Zealand to parents from India. He had his childhood in Australia and grew up in Canada.[5]

Prakash has a B.A. in "Politics and Governance" from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University).[6]

Career

In 2013, Prakash joined Center for Innovating the Future (CIF), a foresight practice based in Toronto, Canada.[7] His work at CIF has been cited by the World Economic Forum,[8] Brookings Institution,[9] the Foreign Policy Research Institute[10] and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (United Arab Emirates).[11] In 2017, Prakash represented CIF in a public testimony to the Senate of Canada.[12]

In 2023, Prakash started The Geopolitical Business, a geopolitical advisory firm in Toronto.[2]

Reception

Prakash's book, Go.AI (Geopolitics of Artificial Intelligence), was reviewed by the France-based think tank, French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), alongside Kai Fu Lee's “AI Superpowers: China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order.”[16] The book was also reviewed by Mandiner,[17] Hetek[18] and Origo (website).[19]
