jHepWork License Terms and Conditions

The core numerical and graphical libraries are licensed by the GNU General Public License v3 or later. However, documentation libraries, examples, installer, code assist database, language files integrated into the jHepWork IDE software package are not licensed by the GPL license and free only for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes (academic research, science and education).

Thus, the entire program cannot be used for a COMMERCIAL purpose. If you use it for COMMERCIAL purposes, you should become a member of this project or contact us at jhepwork(AT)jwork.org (replace (AT) by @) to receive a redesigned version of this program (with the source code) with a more permissive license.

It should also be mentioned that a large portion of the online manual is not accessible for non-members (who will see many yellow boxes protecting the manual from guests). This may not be a problem for an elementary level, but at some point you may need to discover the full potential of this software. After becoming a member, a full access to this manual is granted automatically (plus many other benefits).

jHepWork Source Code License

The core packages, jHPlot and jeHEP IDE are licensed by the GNU General Public License v3 or later. This GNU license must be unchanged for any future versions of the jHepWork for a commercial usage.

We are providing the source code of the jHepWork core here. The source code for the third-party libraries can be obtained from the corresponding authors.

The jHPlot and jeHEP IDE packages heavily use some non-GNU parts. Therefore, their use for commercial purposes will require a special permission as explained above.

jHepWork Language Files, Installer, Documentation, Examples, Third-party libraries

jHepWork language files, documentation, examples, installers, code-assist databases and certain third-party libraries are subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 2.0

You are free to copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt jHepWork under the following conditions:

jHepWork is NOT COMMERCIAL product, although it is professionally written and many libraries have tested by large scientific community. We cannot guarantee that it is fault free in all possible foreseeable situations. Therefore, you use this package at your own risk.

Read about jHepWork online documentation license.

What will happen if you fail to comply with the license for non-commercial usage?

Nothing will happen. We are not going to track you down, check the serial number or suspend the program functionality. This software is free.

But this is what may happen in the case of a violation of the jHepWork license for non-commercial usage: 1) You will be under a risk that authors of (non-GNU) third-party libraries may claim a license violation. We also may contact you if a license violation will be detected. 2) In case of a GNU-license violation, the contributed authors can report violations here. 3) You will be on your own: you will not get any (even limited) support from us, no many benefits (such as an access to the full online manual). 4) Finally, you will be vulnerable in your company if your colleagues will notice that you are using this software without the proper license (note that the free version of jHepWork has a warning indicating the license type).

Thus, to have a piece in mind and a feeling that you are supporting free software and non-profit educational/academic community, one can consider spending a few dollars to obtain a different version of this program with the permission to use it for commercial purposes (plus many other benefits, such as an access to the full manual, complete API documentation, FAQ, script library, etc.).
